Mrs. Hurst died of cancer early Tuesday morning at the Baltimore Cancer Research Center.
She was born April 23, 1924, at Centerville and was a daughter of the late William J. and Ella Wise Glick.
She was a member of North Baltimore Church of the Brethren and attended the Open Bible Tabernacle in Baltimore.
Mrs. Hurst graduated from North River High School in 1942 and from the former Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in September 1947.
She was a public health nurse in Halifax, Goochland and Pulaski counties 1948-53 and worked at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore 1953-56. She later was employed as office nurse by Dr. L. B. Stevens of Baltimore.
On July 12, 1953, she married Elmer M. Hurst of Baltimore, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Joanne Marie Hurst, at home; three sisters, Mabel G. Smith and Grace G. Fleishman, both of Rt. 2, Bridgewater, and Vesta G. Zirkle of Broadway; and a brother, Jesse L. Glick of Bridgewater.
The body is at the Lindsey Bridgewater Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. both today and Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family said contributions may be made to the youth work program at the Open Bible Tabernacle, 5814 Harford Road, Baltimore, Md. 21214, in care of Chris Hayes.
