Mr. Baumgarten was born in Rock Springs on July 23, 1890 and has been a resident of Baraboo all his life. He was employed at the Woolen Mills for 35 years and also later worked at BOW for four years up until his retirement in 1955. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Drescher of Baraboo, Delores Baumgarten of Baraboo and Mrs. Judy Reinfeldt of Baraboo; one son, Ralph of Madison; 23 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and thirty great- grandchildren; one brother, Edward of Rock Springs; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Baumgarten was preceded in death by his wife Ella, in 1969, two daughters, Audrey Wright and Dorothy Gleash; three sons at infancy; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Redlin Funeral Home and burial will be made in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
