EAST LIVERPOOL – VICKIE MATHESON, 51, of North Shady Lane died at 11:36 a.m. at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Monday, March 29, 2010, following a brief illness.

Born November 3, 1958, in Buckhannon, W.Va., a daughter of Neva I. Pugh Saltzman of East Liverpool and the late Lemon Cogar, she had lived in this area most of her life.

She was a nurses' aide at Ohio Valley Home Care and attended Wellsville Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband, George Matheson, Jr. of Wellsville.

Surviving are two daughters, Melanie Davis, and her husband Paul, Jr., of East Liverpool, and Janet Smith of Chester; and two sons, James McKinnon, Jr., and his wife Alexandria "Ali", of East Liverpool, and Joseph Matheson, at home, along with a step-daughter Mary Matheson of East Liverpool.

Also surviving are two sisters, Patsy Price and Sonja Saltzman, both of East Liverpool; a brother, Terry Cogar, and his wife Portia, of Wellsville; and a step-father, Allen D. Saltzman.

There are seven grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Virginia Cogar.

Pastor Dirk Hall is to conduct services at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour prior to services.

Burial is to be in Highlandtown Cemetery.
