Iva Jack "Jackie" Wylie was born in Carroll Springs and lived most of her life in LaRue. She married Willva Casey Wylie on October 22, 1945, in Colorado City, Texas, upon his return from serving in the Pacific during World War II. They lived in Fairfield for about five years where their only child was born. In the early 1950s, they moved back home to LaRue where they owned and operated the OSO Ranch, a "Texas Century Ranch." Mrs. Wylie was employed at Hollywood Vassarette in Athens for 23 years.

Mrs. Wylie loved to cook for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her great country dishes of turkey and dressing, potato salad, hot rolls, buttermilk and chess pies, fruit salad, sweet iced tea, and especially her Christmas fruit cakes. She embroidered beautiful pieces of art and made many quilts for her family to snuggle under. She was also a seamstress, gardener, collector of glass hummingbirds and slippers, and loved to read.

After her husband's death in 1989, she traveled across the United States seeing many sights she had read about. She loved the color red as seen in the casket spray she requested and by the red vehicles she purchased. She loved her grandchildren who will always remember her as "Ninny." She was an active member of New York Baptist Church before her health prohibited her attendance. During her final three years, she resided at Lakeland House and Green Oaks Nursing Home in Athens.

She was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sue Wylie of LaRue; her grandson Matthew Wylie of Friendswood; and her granddaughter Miranda Wylie of Rowlett.
