Funeral services for Arnold Patterson, 78, were held Thursday afternoon at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Elder Elmer Weaver officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Casey Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Patterson, a retired farmer, died Wednesday morning at the McNairy County General Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as church clerk for 21 years.

He was a native of the Hickory Corner Community, son of the late Jimmie and Rozanna Davidson Patterson. He was married to the late Sula Mae Seratt Patterson and they lived in Hickory Corner, where he farmed. He was also employed by General Electric in Selmer for 18 months.

Survivors include three sons, J C Patterson of Burns, Tenn., James A Patterson of Finger and Morris Wayne Patterson of Henderson; two daughters, Mrs. Jewell McBride of Pinson and Mrs. Lucille Locke of Henderson; a brother J. Oberd Patterson of Finger; two sisters, Mrs. Romie Smith and Mrs. Georgia Clayton, both of Henderson; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
