ERNEST DEAN BERRYHILL

Ernest Dean Berryhill, 73, of Sulphur died June 14, 2005. Services were June 17 at the Sandy Baptist Church in Sulphur with Richard Soontay officiating. Burial was at Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Berryhill was born March 19, 1932, in Okmulgee County to Anderson and Carrie (Brenton) Berryhill. He worked as a security guard at Oklahoma City University until he retired due to chronic health problems. He then moved to Sulphur to be with his daughter. He was an artist and enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his leisure time.

He is survived by eight children, Jimmy Dale Wallace, Carrie Elizabeth Howell and Andercine Berryhill, all of Oklahoma City, Ernest Dean Berryhill, Jr. of Ardmore, Beverly Meely of Sulphur, Melanie Kniffen of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Ernestine Berryhill and Janette Standing, both of Geary; a sister Billie Soontay of Dallas, Texas; a special friend, Frieda Webster of Oklahoma City, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Anderson Berryhill, and four sisters, Sally, Francis, Edna and Mae.

Krien Funeral Home, Sulphur, was in charge of the arrangements.
