Reverend J. J. Miller, an eminent Lutheran divine died on the 6th instant, aged 74 years. Dr. Miller was born in New York State in 1819 near New York City.
He was for several years a pastor of Lutheran churches in Ohio and Mississippi and six years ago came to Texas on account of failing health. The old gentleman occupied a warm place in the hearts of out people and his place will be hard to fill.
