William Carpenter's Services Planned
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Culbertson Mortuary for William W. Carpenter, 74, of 1601 S. Sedgwick, who died Friday in a local hospital.
Mr. Carpenter, a retired cement finisher, was born Feb. 8, 1885, in Stockdale, Kan., and came to Wichita from Hutchinson, Kan., in 1927. He was a member of Eureka Gardens Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his wife, Maudie; three sons, Fred, 2004 S. Glenn, Cecil, Hutchinson, and William, El Monte, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucretia Fry, Ozawkie, Kan., Mrs. Mary Eiler, Payette, Idaho, Mrs. Melinda Ray, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Lucille Harvey, Irving, Kan.; a brother, John, Williams, Kan.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. J. W. Youngman, pastor of Eureka Gardens Nazarene Church, and the Rev. J. R. Proctor will officiate. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
