Mrs. Acuff was a consistent woman and those who were privileged to know her intimately knew her as a faithful, affectionate friend, a loving wife and mother. For years she has stood on the borders of the river of death, but she had no fears of its dark waters. For her was ever in sight the ever green shore beyond.
Those who gazed upon her face, smoothed from all suffering by the welcome touch of the Savior's hand, said softly, 'It is well with her soul.' Loving hands filled the room with flowers she so well loved as her friends gazed upon her for the last time.
Mrs. C. H. Acuff was born in Boone County, Mo., Aug. 3, 1839, and married in 1859. Of this union seven children were born, three surviving. She united with the Christian Church in 1854.
We feel we have lost a very good friend in the death of Mrs. Acuff and we join with good citizens in extending sympathy to those who have been bereft of their dearest earthly friend.
