"Daniel Bruner, aged fifty-two, a former resident of south Center township, died Monday afternoon at the Southeastern Indiana hospital in Madison. The body was brought to Shoals Tuesday afternoon on train 21 and was taken to the home of William Bruner, a brother, near Hindostan.
The deceased was born and reared in this county and lived the greater part of his life in the south part of Center township. He had been married twice. His second wife, with a daughter, Miss Viola Bruner, of Terre Haute, and two children of his first marriage - Shirley Bruner of Terre Haute, and Mrs. Ruth Wanner, of Indianapolis, survive him. He also leaves his aged mother, Mrs. Sarah Bruner, of Center township, three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Charles Bough, of this city, is a sister.
Funeral services were held in the Hindostan church Wednesday afternoon, followed by interment in Hindostan cemetery."

Daniel married Lillie Bledsoe on August 19, 1899. Lillie left Daniel and the children in 1904. She moved to Detroit, Michigan and it is believed that she died there. Daniel remarried Catherine Vitrola "Trollie" Reed Abrams May 2, 1907 and they had Violet L. Bruner.

Daniel's tombstone can not be found, but it is believed that he is near his brother Charles Nelson Bruner
