Roena Shields 1933 ~ 2006 Roena Shields, 73, passed away July 12, 2006 at her home in Kanosh, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 17, 1933 in Richfield, Utah to William Eugene and Verlie Roena Hatch Brown. She married McLloyd Tuttle and Bruce Hendrickson and they preceded her in death. She married Curtis (Mac) Shields on November 24, 1964.

She loved to sew, sing, and to make her yard and garden beautiful. She was very active in the LDS Church having served a mission with her husband in Oakland, California, working in the temple and serving as an assistant matron. She held many positions throughout her life in the church. Her greatest love was for her family and especially watching her grandchildren in sports. She was an avid football fan.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis (Mac) Shields of Kanosh; seven children, Sheri (Greg) Thueson of Boise, ID; York (Sandi) Shields of Meadow; Lana (Harlan) Nielson of Salt Lake City; Tim (Ruth Ann) Tuttle of Flowell; Mary Ann (Kevin) Steadman of Salem; Dean (Kris) Shields of Fillmore; Claudeen Sutherland of Sandy. She has 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by a grandchild and three brothers and one sister, her parents and two husbands.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kanosh LDS Church. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday evening at the Olpin Southern Utah Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Manti Cemetery in Manti Utah at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, under the direction of Olpin Southern Utah Mortuary.
