Nancy Mackle was a very brave woman. She was married to James Mackle in England sometime before 1870. They had four boys. Then James Mackle died in 1886. Her youngest boy being just one years old. At some point after this, Nancy and her four boys made the hard trip to America. I can only imagine that she thought she could give them a better life here. With all the research I have done, I believe that all four of her sons lived very well. All four of the boys stayed and worked for a few years in New Jersey. Then one moved to California and Washington State. One appears to have stayed in New York and the other two moved to Birmingham, Al.
