Martha Schwab Eisenbarth, 90, Weiser, died March 20, 2010 in Weiser. Services pending under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
Published in Idaho Statesman on March 23, 2010.

Martha Schwab Eisenbarth, one month short of her 91st birthday celebration, unexpectedly passed away March 20, 2010 at the hospital in Weiser, Idaho.

Martha was born on April 8, 1919 at Windsor, Colorado, the daughter of Michael Schwab, Sr. and Marie Stoll Schwab.

Martha was very proud of her German immigrant heritage and spoke often and long of the life her large family of ten children (three brothers and six sisters) made as farmers and field laborers. Her pride extended from the creative seamstress her mother was to her education and school that included daily prayer and pledge of allegiance to our country. The family moved to Scotts Bluff, Nebraska after the farm they rented was sold. From there they moved to Torrington, Wyoming where following the death of her mother during childbirth and the marrying and moving away of older siblings, Martha dropped out of the eighth grade to help support the family in farm work and subsequently working in her father's store. She married Edward Eisenbarth in June 1938 in Torrington, Wyoming. They lived in Torrington until 1945 at which time they moved to Idaho to rent a farm on the Weiser Flat. After the landowner sold the farm, Ed took up the mechanic trade and they ultimately moved into Weiser, where Martha over the years became employed in various jobs. Her pride, friendship and loyalty in work was reflected in her many comments about working nine years for the Jack Ogami bag company and in later years volunteering and working at the Weiser Senior Center as an assistant cook. Her Senior Center experiences generated many close friendships, which she blessed as the real worth of life. Edward died in 1976 and Martha continued to reside in their Weiser home until July 2009 when, following a dizzy spell she entered the Weiser Rehabilitation and Care Center, which became her new home. Martha's passion for life revolved round her four sons. There never was any conflict in her mind between her boys' happiness and her own; they were to her one in the same.

She is survived by her sons, Lee Roy (Sally) Eisenbarth of Weiser, Bill (Marian) Eisenbarth of Boise, Larry (Sheri) Eisenbarth of North Bend, Oregon and Roger (Phasinee) Eisenbarth of Caldwell. There are also 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

The surviving siblings are Daniel Schwab and Charles Schwab of Torrington, Wyoming, and Rose (Harry) Grasmick of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. There are many nieces and nephews. One grandson and one great grandson passed away as a result of accidents.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and five sisters.

Martha's ever present spiritual beliefs, optimism, happy smile and life loving zeal will be sorely missed by all who knew her. God could not be everywhere so he created mothers and this one is now reporting back.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Weiser Community Church, with Pastor Steve Penner officiating.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Services under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lienkaemper-thomason.com.
