He had been a lifelong resident of Claremont. He was employed by the Claremont Paper Mill and was a Korean War veteran, serving with the U S Army. He held memberships in the Father Cote Council No 1820, Knights of Columbus and the Polish American Citizens Club.
He served in the U S Army from July 1, 1952 to June 9, 1954.
He married Lorraine Roberge on June 11, 1953 in Berlin, NH.
He is survived by his wife; a son Gerard Gagne and two daughter Rita Gagne and Marie Gagne all of Claremont; six brothers Albert Gagne of Holyoke, MA, Wilfred Gagne of Lantana, FL, Donat Gagne, William Gagne, Leo Gagne and Francis Gagne all of Claremont; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial is in St Mary's Cemetery.
