E.R. Davis, 82, father of Mrs. Flora Kirkland of Athens, died at the family home near Canton on Friday morning following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 o'clock at Cool Springs Baptist Church in Van Zandt county, with burial in Cool Springs cemetery.
Deceased was born in North Carolina but had been a resident of Texas for many years.
Besides Mrs. Kirkland, he is survived by three sons, Joe, Ebb and J.C. Davis, all of Canton and five other daughters as follows: Mrs. Frankie Windham of Ben Wheeler; Mrs. Maggie Burns and Mrs. Effie Tucker, both of Chandler; Mrs. Winnie Pyle of California and Mrs. Edna Pennington of Canton. Also surviving are twenty-three grandchildren.

He married Annie Bee Clio Duke Thormahlen sometime after 1910 they had two daughters: Willie Wilma Davis (1914) and Audie Jerry Davis (1917).
