Friedericke Kniess emigrated to the United States from Wedderwill, Regenwalde Kreis (county), Pommerania, Prussia in 1857 with her husband, Friedrich, and their children. Their ship, the Heinrich Gustav, departed from Hamburg (for Quebec) on July 1, 1857. They settled in the Town of Wausau (now Town of Maine), Marathon County, Wisconsin, and ran a farm.

Gravesite Details

I believe her husband, Friedrich Kniess, was buried in this cemetery as well. His 1888 death is listed in the records of Zion Lutheran Church. But his marker is apparently gone.
