Mary Jo Kasmiroski, 74, formerly of Mart, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010, in Georgetown, of complications related to heart and kidney failure. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Littlepage Funeral Home in Mart with the Rev. Gary Kreder and Mr. Jeff Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Mart Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at the funeral home.

Mary Jo was born in Marlin, Texas, to the late Georgia D. and Archie Van Downes. She was raised in the Cedar Springs community and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1954. Mary Jo married Charles R. Kasmiroski in 1961 in Pleasant Grove and the two moved to Mart in 1962. Mrs. Kasmiroski adopted Mart as her hometown and lived her years there as a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and friend. In 2002, Mary Jo, along with her daughter and son-in-law, helped found Georgetown Ear, Nose and Throat Center. In 2005, she moved to the Sun City Retirement Community in Georgetown.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanna Franklin and husband, Scott, of Georgetown; son, Van Kasmiroski and wife, Shera, of Spring; grandchildren, Brenton Charles and Hailey Brooke Kasmiroski; brothers-in-law, William Kasmiroski and wife, Barbara, and James Kasmiroski; and numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
