IN LOVING MEMORY OF Colleen B. Allen

Here is a test to find out if your mission in life is complete. If you are alive, it isn't. Colleen B. Allen passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on April 8, 2006. She was 76. Colleen was born September 22, 1929 in Provo, Utah to Frank and Lettie Bennett. Colleen graduated from American Fork High School, then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Colleen was crowned Miss Steel Days Queen in 1946 and enjoyed every minute of it. In 1946, she married Kent H. Durrant and they had a son, Kent. B. Durrant. Kent H. Durrant passed away soon after. On March 3, 1960, she was sealed in marriage to the love of her life, Frank B. Allen, D.D.S., in American Fork, Utah. In December 1960, they adopted a baby girl, Gina Allen.

Colleen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was part owner of the Tahoe Biltmore, a member of The Prospectors Club with her husband, Frank, as well as a member of the Nevada Society for Crippled Children, the Reno Lyons, Club and the Northern Nevada Dental Society. Colleen and Frank were avid travelers and enjoyed traveling all over the world. Their favorite places to visit were Scotland where they were a part of the Gordon and Henderson Clans.

During the last year of her life, she had the joy of living with her daughter and spending time with her grand children. One of her favorite things to do was plan her granddaugh ter Jennifer's wedding where she promised she was going to look better than the bride. She also anxiously awaited her five year old granddaughter Sommers arrival in her room so they could play Barbie dolls and plan their trip to Disneyworld.

Colleen is preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Allen, D.D.S.; son, Kent B. Durrant; parents, Frank Gordon and Lettie Batty Bennett; sisters, Lova Peters, Joyce Moss and Idonna Adam son; and brothers, Frankie Bennett and Randy Bennett. Surviving this heartbreaking loss is her daughter, Gina Allen Adkins (Jody Adkins), grandchildren, Steve Mason (Kristin Joy) Jennifer Mason White (Jimmy White), Heather Mason, Sommer Adkins, Michelle Macaluso (Carl Macaluso), Amy Durrant, great-grandchildren, Justine, Jacob and Jeremy, sister, Connie Taylor (Jack Taylor) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stead Building, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 8080 Lemmon Valley Drive, with a viewing starting at 11:00 a.m. A dedication at Mountain View Cemetery will follow the service under the direction of Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary A Celebration of her Life to follow.
