Claresholm, Alberta - Thursday - January 25th 1945
THREE LOCAL AIRMEN KILLED
The funeral for two of the Airmen killed near Bassano in the fatal crash last Sunday, when a training plane from No 15 SFTS crashed after hitting a ferry cable over the Bow River, was held Wednesday afternoon.

One of the victims was F/Sgt C.E. Sutton, a link training instructor of the RAF. He is married and his wife lives in town.

The other man was a student pilot from Australia, LAC I.R. Viddler (sic Vidler). Services were held in the Station Chapel and were conducted by F/L G.B. Fee, the Padre. Six Australians acted as pallbearers their countryman and six RAF men for F/Sgt Sutton. Full honors were accorded to the victims.

Burial was in the Claresholm Field of Honor. Fairbairn's Funeral Home was in charge.

The third victim of the crash was F/Sgt J.T. Tame of Vancouver. He was a very popular figure on the station being Secretary of the Sgt's Mess and also leader of the Glee Club. His body was forwarded to Vancouver for burial.
