Funeral Services at Fort Benton for Albert A. Fisher

Albert A. Fisher, 70, passed away at his home in Mesa, Arizona, at 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 4th. He had been in poor health for the past number of years and he and Mrs. Fisher had time, often visiting here.

Mr. Fisher came to Montana in 1915, homesteading just north of the Dorner school house in the Goosebill section. The family resided there until 1937, when they sold their home and purchased the Holderbaum and Salisbury places along the Missouri north of Fort Benton. They retired in 1947. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him, and his old time friends are sorry to learn of his passing.

The remains were sent back to Fort Benton where funeral services were held on Monday, June 10th. Burial was in Great Falls.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Dehlia Gibson of Prescott, Arizona; Mrs. Hazel Ward of Chester; and Gertrude Swears of Fort Benton; and one son, L. Marshall Fisher of Fort Benton. Surviving besides his wife and children are three brothers, Charlie Fisher of Madton, Washington, Will Fisher of Bremerton, Washington, and R.L. Fisher of Spokane, Washington; five sisters, Effie Allen of Republic, Washington, May Lee of Washington D.C., Luella Smart of Conrad, Maude Billingsley of Wilbur, Washington, and Minnie Swartz of Upper Lake, Washington; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
