WILLIAM LEE SR. Mansfield -- William Ira Lee, Sr., 62, of 885 Danwood Road, died early Wednesday morning at his home after a one-year illness.
Mr. Lee was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Washington, D.C., and had been a Mansfield resident since 1953. He was employed as a pharmacist and manager of Gray Drug for 32 years, retiring this year because of ill health.
A 1953 graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, he was a member of the Ohio State and North Central Ohio Pharmaceutical Associations. He was also a member of Linden Road Presbyterian Church and VFW Post 7651.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific as a radioman.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" E. O'Mullane Lee; three sons, William I. Jr., of Irwin, Texas, and Randall S. and Bradley A., both of Columbus; two sisters (sic -- it shoud read "two daughters") Mrs. Tim (Diane) J. Smith of Mansfield, and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Sipko of Mentor; a brother, Jerome Kendrick of Upper Marlboro, Md., and three grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Finefrock Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Linden Road Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Peter J. Lawson.
Private burial will be Saturday morning in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Linden Road Presbyterian Church.
