Services for Mrs. Alma Bowles were held in the Eastland Baptist Church. Mrs. Bowles was a long time resident of Eastland having been in the community since her birth. She was baptized at the old Shannon tank when 12 years of age and had been a member of the Baptist church since that date. Mrs. Bowles was a reserved woman who possessed a quality of making friends with all whom she came in contact. Her parents were county pioneers.

Survived by her children - Miss Gena Bowles, Joe Bowles, Harold Bowles; sisters - Mrs. Frank Holmes, Mrs. Ollie Scarborough; one nephew - Frank O. Holmes; three nieces - Mrs. Charles A. Dauns, Miss Anita Scarborough, Mrs. J.K. Browden; her husband.
