Services for Leonard R. Shackelford were held Friday, Nov. 2, at the Church of the Nazarene in Carnegie with Rev. Bob Willaims officiating and burial in the Carnegie Cemetery under direction of the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie.
He was born June 1, 1913 in Nocona, Tex. to Clarence and Mary Poindexter Shackelford. He had lived in the Swan Lake area for many years before moving to Wichita Falls, Tex. five years ago. He entered into rest on Oct. 30, 1990 at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 29 days.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Davis Shackelford of the home; 4 sons, Melvin of Swan Lake Community, Kenneth of Bessie, Jimmy of Jacksonville, Ark., Leonard of Phoenix, Ariz.; 2 brothers, Ray of Carnegie and Bud of Portales, N.M.; one sister, Agnes Jean Sist of Arlington, Tex.; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mattie Mae in 1981, a son, Bobby Wayne in 1980, and a daughter, Nancy Sue in 1981, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
