UNKNOWN PAPER--JUNE 1918
Andrew Moreland was born near Sullivan, Ill. Sept. 17, 1879, and died near Edgewood, Ill, June 22 1918, age 38 years. 9 months and 5 days. He was the son of Jerome and Elizabeth Moreland, who with one sister, have preceded him to the Great Beyond. He was married to Miss Lottie Osman Dec. 24, 1902, and to this union was born one daughter, Fern, who with his wife is left to face life's uneven journey without the loving and protecting care of the father and husband. Besides these he leaves seven brothers and two sisters to mourn his death. At the age of ninteen he was converted and united with the Christian Church in the state of Washington, and upon his return to Illinois he became a member of the U.B. Church at Wabash. Bro. Moreland was a faithful servant, serving in a manner comparable with his quiet and untiring disposition. The lingering sickness, which ended in his death, gave warning of the approaching end, and though it was hard to leave his loving family, he said, "I am prepared to go if it is God's will." The community loses an upright citizen, and the wife and daughter have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire neighborhood. Services were held at Wabash Church Monday, June 24, 1918, at 2 o'clock p.m. Rev. Oscar Smith officiated. Interment at Wabash cemetery, near the church.
