Born Sept 16, 1825 in Pomfrey, NY and came to Michigan with family in 1834, settling first in Ann Arbor and later in Van Buren County. He was the son of Orren Sutton and Betsy Branch. Married Priscilla J. Bancroft in January 1849. According to Muskegon Chronicle newspaper, He was a prominent Republican, a veteran of the Civl War, and an extensive writer for Washington andother metroplitan papers under the pen name of Daniel Boone, Jr. He died Oct 5, 1903 at his home in Hartford, Michigan.
