Mr. Wendell Oliver Rhoden, 39, 107 N. Thompson Ave., died Thursday in a Bartow hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Rhoden was born Oct. 24, 1917, in MacClenny and came to Ocala two years ago from San Diego, Calif. He was a retired naval chief, a veteran of World War II, and was connected with the public works department of the city of Ocala.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rebel S. Rhoden; a son, David Rhoden, Ocala; six sisters, Mrs. Daisy Harvey, Sanderson; Mrs. Eunice Carter, Jacksonville; Mrs. Gladys Dillon, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Flora Alday, Gainesville; Mrs. Blanche Ramsey, Merritt Island; Mrs. Agnes McKee, Jacksonville; three brothers, Lloyd Rhoden, Boynton Beach; Ralph Rhoden, MacClenny; Francis Rhoden, Jacksonville; a half sister, Mrs. Opal Padgett, Jacksonville; two half brothers, Carlton Rhoden, Savannah, Ga.; and Ellis Rhoden, Jacksonville. - J.
