William Warden "W.W." Martin, 65, moved to Young County with his family when a small child. He was raised and educated in Graham and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mr. Martin served as Young County Clerk for several years and was later engaged in private business. He was a World War I veteran and a charter member of Ligon - Daniel Post 34 American Legion. Mr. Martin held continuous membership in the Post for 38 years and was active in Legion activities for many years. He was a former commander of Ligon - Daniel Post 34.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin moved to Abilene in 1948 to make their home.
Survived by his wife; one daughter - Mrs. Bill Mayes; one son - J.W. Martin; one brother - Jack Martin; four sisters - Mrs. Velma Gilliland, Mrs. Mary Whitmire, Mrs. Verda Neeley, Mrs. Ora Mae Zorne; three grandchildren.
He was quite a storyteller.
