Florence Elizabeth Carter was born in Moultrie County, September 17, 1866 and died October 23, 1925 at the age of 59 years. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Carter, both deceased.
On November 29, 1891 she was united in marriage with Seth McCabe, he preceding her four years ago.
To this union were born four children, all living, They are G.C. McCabe of Terre Haute, Mrs. R G. Bundy, of Lovington, Mrs. M.L Ash, of Evansville, Indiana and Mrs. F.J. Tuggle of Allenvile.
There are three sisters, and one brother, Mrs. Joseph Rhoades of Howard, Kansas; Mrs. James Duncan of Eldorado Springs, Missouri, Mrs. Lydia Kerns of Charleston and S. A. Carter of Bruce. There is one grandchild, little Myrna Tuggle.
In early life Mrs. McCabe united with the Church of Christ at Liberty but later went to the Methodist church in Allenville of which she remained a member until her death.
