SETH MCCABE DIED MONDAY
ALLENVILLE BUSINESS MAN SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS AT HOSPITAL IN MINNEAPOLIS. BURIED WEDNESDAY.

Seth McCabe died Monday morning at 2 o'clock at Mayo Bros. Hospital,Rochester, Minn, where he had been taken for treatment the previous week.
The body was returned to this city, arriving here Tuesday evening. It was taken to the home in Allenville where funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 at the residence. Rev. Ridgeway was in charge. Interment took place in the French cemetery.

Seth McCabe was one of the best known men in Moultrie county. He was prominently identified with the Democratic party organization and at the time of his death was serving East Nelson township as assessor.

He was born in Effingham in 1869 and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. David McCabe. He came to this county and started in business as a cattle buyer at Bruce. Later he went to Allenville and engaged in the merchantile business and at the time of his death was associated with his son-in-law Ray Bundy in that business.

He is survived by his wife, nee Carter, one son Cleve who lives in Mattoon and three daughters, Fern, wife of Ray Bundy and Daisy and Sylvia at home. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters; George, in Effingham, Joe in Sullivan and Mrs. Sarah Greenwood and Mrs. Vina Brown of Sullivan and Mrs. Emma Gladville of Dugger, Ind.

Mr. McCabe had been in failing health for the past year, suffering from a combination of Bright's diesase and heart trouble. He was taken to Minnesota in the hope of relief, but his condition had reached the stage where medical aid was of no avail.
