Arlie L. "Shug" Logsdon, age 76, of Crockett, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Logsdon was born August 3, 1932 in Huntingburg, Indiana and was a resident of Crockett since 1963. He was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard with 6 years of service. Mr. Logsdon was past president of Crockett Lions Club and was Chairman of Wesley Chapel Cemetery Association. He was retired having worked as a manager for Huntingburg Furniture Manufacturing Company and was also a member of the St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years Leota LaVerne Logsdon of Crockett; children bill Logsdon and wife, Kathy of Fairfield, Carey Minter and husband, Danny of Crockett,, and Jeanne Ellison and husband, John of Austin; step children, Melody Pinnell and husband, Jimmy of Crockett and Charles Burwitz and wife, Marilyn of Buffalo; grandchildren Brandy Stewart of Midway, Ryan Logsdon of Arlington, Nickolaus Logsdon of Alvin, Jonathan Ellison of Austin, and Jennifer Ellison of Austin; step-grandchildren Christina Evans of Crockett, Tyler Burwitz of Bryan and Bryce Burwitz of Buffalo; great grandchildren Alexandria, Jaycie, Jay Thomas and Colby; brother Johon Logsdon of Jasper, Indiana; three nieces of Indiana; cousin Johnny in Montana; brothers and sisters-in-law John Wood and wife Loveta of Houston, Willette Rosson and wife, Annette of Wesley Chapel, Selma Rosson of Wesley Chapel and Vera Dishongh of Wesley Chapel.

He is preceded in death by wife, Patricia Logsdon; daughter, Elaine Logsdon; son, Jeffrey Logsdon; and two grandsons, Jeremy Logsdon and Jeffrey Minter.

Funeral services for Mr. Arlie L. "Shug" Logsdon were held Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church with Father Ranjan officiating. Interment followed in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
