Mrs. Mary A. Showalter, widow of William Showalter, whose home was on North River near Scott's Ford, died Wednesday morning of catarrh of the stomach while on a visit to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Kyger, who lives a short distance north of Port Republic. She had been in Augusta county, visiting relatives for a short time, and arrived from there Friday to spend several days with Mrs. Kyger. Saturday morning she complained of feeling badly and by evening she was quite ill, quickly developing acute stomach trouble, which resulted in her death at 10 o'olook Wednesday morning, She was, 78 years old.

The funeral will be held at 11 o'olook this morning at the Mill Creek Dunkard church.

Mrs. Showalter was a member of the Mennonite church and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends, She is survived by two sons, Erasmus Showalter, Indiana; Charles Showalter, Detroit, Mich.; and five daughters, Mrs Fannie Hartman, Mt. Meridian, Augusta oounty; Miss Kate Showalter, Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Frank Kyger and Mrs. Elizabeth Craun, Port Republic, and Miss Mattie Showalter, who made her home with her mother at Scott's Ford.
