Mrs. Julia Munger Allison, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, died at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, on Monday, November 30, 1959, at 3:00 ;.m. She had been in failing health for one year and was a patient in the hospital for five days.
She was born in Jackson Township, Huntingdon County, on May 7, 1887, a daughter of John and Julia Anspach. She was married to Charles F. Allison of Petersburg on September 28, 1906, at the Petersburg Methodist parsonage by the Rev. Mr. Crotsley. Her husband preceded her in death on August 24, 1948.
Surviving are the following sons: Frederick Allison of Alexandria, R. D. , Berlin W. Allison of Montoursvill and Charles E. Allison of Huntingdon. One son is deceased. There are four grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Allison was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church of Petersburg and a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class and the Womans Society of Christian Service, of the church. She was a member of the Petersburg Firemen's Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary of Petersburg. Mrs. Allison was a kind and loving neighbor and mother and was active in church and all civic affairs of the community.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.m. Thursday afternoon from the Spyker funeral home, Petersburg. The Rev. Edmund W. Minich, pastor of the Petersburg Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery at Petersburg. Friends may call at the Spyker funeral home after 7: p.m. Wednesday.
