Please note that the birth and death dates on this memorial are exclusively from the monument belatedly erected to Dorcas (Bridge) Champney and her parents. Caveat emptor.

In response to the caveat about dating offered by Liz L., I note the following from the Middlesex County Court records, in the handwriting of longtime court recorder Thomas Danforth:

At a second sessions [sic] of the County Cort held at Cambr. the 28th of November. 1654. | Jno Bridge senior is granted administracon upon the estate of his sonne Thomas & daughter Dorcas Bridge deceased.

Thus the inscribed 1656 date given for the death of Dorcas Champney's parents is incorrect. As noted, the stone was erected at the time of the daughter's death, almost 20 years after the death of her parents.

Bill, I'm submitting this same note for both father and daughter memorials and will leave it in your able hands to customize it appropriately for each.
