John Geenen, 59, of 618 Lincoln Ave., Holland, Michigan, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning in Holland Hospital from a heart attack.

He came to this country in 1913 and moved to Sully, Iowa. In 1937 the family came to Holland. He was a member of the Fourteenth Street Chr. Ref. Church and was employed at French Pastry as a baker.

Surviving are his wife, nee Jennie Spoelstra, and three sons, Adrian, Dick, and John Geenen of Holland; four daughters, Mrs. James (Sophie) Hamberg, Mrs. Don (Marie) De Vries, Mrs. Donald (Cornelia) Dokter, all of Holland and Miss Betty Geenen at home; eight grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Dick, Miss Bertha Geenen and Mrs. Andrew Versendaal all of Sully, Ia.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Fourteenth Street Chr. Ref. Church with the Rev. J. F. Schuurmann, former pastor, officiating. Relatives met in the church basement at 1:45 p.m. Burial was in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Relatives attending from the Sully-Pella area were Miss Bertha Geenen, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Versendaal, Mr. John Latcham, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Spoelstra, Mrs. Sadie Goodyk, Mr. Jake Spoelstra, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Van Hal, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Spoelstra, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spoelstra, Hilda Spoelstra, Mr. and Mrs. Case Goodyk, Adriana Goodyk, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Beyer, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wyma and Mr. And Mrs. Geurt Van Hall of Chicago.
