Lyda Beatrice Fromm, age 90, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Ron McDougald officiating. Visitation will be held at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday. Mrs. Fromm was born on Sunday, November 16, 1919 in Artesia, MS to the late Columbus Lonzo and Bobbie Turner Blankenship. She was a member of the Seventh Street Church of Christ and retired in 1982 after 27 years as a line operator for American Bosch. At her retirement party, her co-workers presented her with a rocking chair, because she had told them that after she retired, she was going to sit in her rocking chair and watch her favorite soap operas . As a retired mother and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking and cooked daily for her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John William Fromm Jr. and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son Mickey Fromm (Margie) of Columbus, and two sisters Jamie B. Dagress of Columbus and Bessie Sawyer of Bunky, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael A. Fromm Jr. (Kay), William L. "Bill" Fromm and Pamela Dawn Renfrow ( Sam ) and great grandchildren Marisa Fromm, Caitlyn Fromm, Tyler Renfrow, Braeden Renfrow, Landon Renfrow and Tanner Fromm and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Fromm, Jr., Bill Fromm, Sam Renfrow, Paul Lavender, Mike Lavender, and Jerry Lavender.
