Glenn E. Flansburg, age 86, longtime resident of Wheaton. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Glenn will be Monday, March 8th 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 515 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn. Internment will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst. A memorial gathering will be held from 4pm until 8pm Sunday, March 7, at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Born January 15, 1924 in Sycamore, IL, he passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Wynscape Health & Rehab in Wheaton. Glenn, a Navy Veteran, proudly served his country during WWII. Mr. Flansburg was a teacher and administrator at Glenbard West High School for 25 years, teaching math from 1960-67 and then became the assistant principal until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; member of the DuPage County Genealogical Society; and served as past secretary for the Wyndemere resident's board. He is survived by his son Richard (Ann), daughter Barbara (Christopher) Swallow, grandchildren Elizabeth (Mark) McVey, Laura (Michael) Lindbert, Emily (Nic) Bade and Ian Swallow. Preceded by his wife of 51 years, Ruth nee Rowe. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to Glenbard West High School, Glenn E.
