Mrs. Pearl Hodges, 85, of Frederick, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29, 1980, in a Frederick hospital.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Gray Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Ray, minister of Trinity Baptist Church, and the Rev. Ray Wood, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial was in Davidson Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges, the daughter of Job Porter and Rebecca J. Bennett Porter, was born March 4, 1895, in Cornland, Ill. She came to Davidson in 1907 and moved to Frederick in 1957. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She married Charles Hodges, July 2, 1916, in Frederick. He preceded her in death September 1968.
Survivors include three daughters, Alice Wallace, Frederick; Wilma Jane Wynn, Tipton; Anita Mae Givens, Stillwater; two sons, David Hodges, Wichita Falls and Charles Hodges, Davidson.
Also a twin brother, Lois Mearl Porter, Frederick; 17 grand-children and 28 great grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, two daughters, one grandson, and by her husband.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Wayne Hodges, David Hodges, Sammy Phelps, Dennis Beyl, Allan Smith and Jack Schelnik.
Organist was her grand-daughter, Roberta Phelps; "What A Day That Will Be" and "Shall We Gather at the River" were sung by her grand-daughters, Oleta Woodall and Pearlyne Kersey.
