Mrs. Catherine A. Fessler, 75, 604 Niagara Ave., widow of Edwin S. Sr., died of a lingering illness today at St. Nicholas Hospital. She had been a patient there about seven weeks.
Her late husband, a former Sheboygan businessman, alderman and County Board supervisor, died in July, 1962.
The former Catherine Altmeyer, she was born in Algoma, Nov. 17, 1887, a daughter of the late Peter and Caroline Altmeyer.
The family later moved to Two Rivers where she attended school.
Mr. and Mrs. Fessler were married in St. Alfonso Catholic Church, Chicago, March 2, 1911, later moving to Sheboygan where they continued to make their home. During late years the couple had resided periodically in Arizona.
Mrs. Fessler was a member of St. Clement's Parish and its Holy Family Altar Society.
Surviving are four sons, Eldred, of Elkhart Lake, and Clyde (who succeeded his late father on the County Board), Gordon and Elwin Jr., of Sheboygan; three daughters, Mrs. James Deely (Ruth), Santa Ana, CA, Mrs. Ed Vary (Jean), Mesa, AZ, and Miss Mary Ann, at home; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She also leaves two brothers, Alvin Altmeyer, Sheboygan Falls, and Henry Erdman, and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Kurtz, Two Rivers.
The requiem Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Clement's Church, with Rev. Robert Kelly, pastor, celebrant. Mass will follow 8:340 family rites at Gerend Funeral Home, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited there by the Altar Society and other parishioners at 7:30 Friday.
