Mike J. Love, 82, of Georgetown, died Monday, december 27, 2004 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palata. Born in South Pittsburg, Tenn. on Friday, Oct 6, 1922. He faithfully served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, where he received the World War II Victory Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal, AP Theatre Ribbon with two bronze service stars and one bronze arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and one Bronze Star, Distinguished Unit Badge. He enjoyed fishing. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Carnright Love; brothers, J. D. and James Love; and sister, Geraldine Brattleston. He is survived by his son, Stephen Love and wife Theresa of Easley, S.C.; two grandchildren and friends. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, Dec 30, at the graveside with Rev. Stephen Love officiating at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, with full military honors. Watts Funeral Home in Crescent City is handling arrangements.
