Forrest Everett Morton
Ottawa-Forrest Everett Morton, 71, Ottawa, died late Friday, Nov. 2, at an Ottawa hospital.
Mr. Morton was a welder for Smith and Loveless Manufacturing at Lenexa for 18 years before he retired in 1976. He previously worked for National Sign Co., Loux Hatchery and was a welder at Ottawa Steel and Baldwin-Ward Manufacturing Co., all at Ottawa.
He was born Oct. 3, 1913, at LaBelle, Mo., the son of Russell T. and Minnie Brumbaugh Morton. He came to Ottawa with his parents at an early age and was graduated from Ottawa schools.
Mr. Morton was a member and elder of the Church of Christ, 5th and Cedar, Ottawa, and the Senior Club of Ottawa.
He was married to Dorothy Helen Aldridge March 14, 1942, at Ottawa. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Gentry and Mrs. Teri Bullington, both of Emporia, and Anne Morton, Lawrence; three sons, Donald Morton, Nashville, Tenn., Harry Morton, Lawrence and Kenneth Morton, Ottawa; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Collins, Paola, Mrs. Thelma Broers, Ottawa, and Mrs. Dorothy Davis, Okemah, Okla.; two brothers, Russell Morton, Newton and Jimmie Morton, Ottawa; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Ottawa. Mr. Morton will lie in state from 1 p.m. today until service time at the funeral home.
