Dorothy Geraldine Davis was born March 8, 1926, in Ottawa, Kansas where she grew up. Dorothy was the last living of eight children born to Russell and Minnie Morton. She passed away January 20, 2020.
After graduating from Ottawa High School in 1943, she worked as a secretary for Lesh Oil Company.
On September 5, 1948, Dorothy and Joe Carmen Davis were married. They moved to Kansas City, MO where she was employed by Skelly Oil Company as a statistical typist.
Joe’s work as an Aerial Applicator took them to Pecos, TX to spray and dust irrigated cotton fields. Dorothy worked as a secretary at Bob Scott’s CPA office for several years. She retired from the CPA and became a full-time mother, caring for their two children, Joe Dean and Rebecca Jo.
Dorothy was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She was baptized in the Marias de Cygnes River in Ottawa, KS at the age of 13.
She is survived by her husband, Joe C. Davis of the home; son, Joe D. and wife Lori of Denver, CO; daughter, Rebecca Jacobsen and husband Jake of Puyallup, WA; and one beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Carmen Davis.
Graveside services will be Thursday, January 23, 2:00pm in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, OKC.
