ABELL, JAMES HUBERT SR., 80, of Louisville, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007 at Baptist Hospital East. He was born in Lebanon, and was a retired employee of General Electric, where he had worked 35 years. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and was 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Assumption Council. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Doris M. Abell; three daughters, Luanne Shaw (Dennis), Linda M. and Patricia A. Abell; a son, James H. Abell Jr. (Gina); two sisters, Angie Morris and Nancy J. Smith; brother, Joseph E. Abell; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Louisville or to Mass of the Air.
