Joseph L. Bauer, 79, of 209 E. Fifth St. died Friday at his home. Born in Oswego, he lived in the area most of his life. He attended Oswego Schools. Mr. Bauer worked 29 years at Fitzgibbons Boiler Works and 17 years at Fulton Boiler Co. in Pulaski until retiring in 1982. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of VFW 5885, the American Legion, and Boilermakers local 175. He had been an Eagle Scout. Surviving are his wife, the former Norma Herman; two daughters, Christine Palmer and Kimberly Germain, both of Oswego; a son, David of Oswego; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services are 8:30 a.m. Monday at Dowdle Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial is in St. Peter's Cemetery.
