Mrs. Adolph Warnke, 77, lifelong resident of Kiel, died at her home, 620 Calumet Drive, early Tuesday afternoon following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed Church, Kiel, the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be in the Rockville Cemetery.
Mrs. Warnke, the former Minnie Backhaus, was born April 4, 1877, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Backhaus, pioneer Kiel settlers. She received her education in schools of the city and was married to Adolph Warnke Dec. 26, 1898. He died in October of 1941. Mrs. Warnke was an active member of the church, the church choir, the FrauenVerein and a past member of the Missionary Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leo Rach, and a son, Alfred, of Kiel; a sister, Mrs. Fred Luebke of Two Rivers; and a grandson.
