God answered the prayer of a brave lady, almost 101 years old, when today she passed away quietly in her own home. She lived a long life amidst her family, many of whom will now welcome her home. A few weeks ago she herself spoke of that reunion, imagining them saying, "What took you so long?"

Freda Kasten Stolzmann was born December 5, 1909, in Rockville, near Kiel, to John and Amanda (Krueger) Kasten.
She attended Rockville Elementary School and graduated from Kiel High School in 1926.
She and William C. Stolzmann were married on September 23, 1933. He died in 1994 and was laid to rest on what would have been his 85th birthday, July 9.
Since 1941, Freda was a faithful member of Ebenezer U.C.C. and a member of the E.C.J. Circle of the church. Her family has established a memorial in her name for the church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Ellen (Ray) Hoffmann, of Sheboygan; five grandsons, Steven (Linda), Arthur (Diane), William R. (Nancy) Stolzmann and Ross Hoffmann, all of Sheboygan, and Joel (Mary) Stolzmann of Colorado Springs, CO; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Jackie Kasten of West Bend, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill (6/94), a son, Royce (9/08), two infant sons, Randal and Ross; her parents; three brothers, Harvey, Melvin, and Hugo; and four sisters, Nora Kletzein, Roma Rabe, Helen Hahn, and Edna Thomas. Also preceding her were many dear brothers and sisters through marriage.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Her immediate family will lovingly lay her to rest beside her husband on what would have been her 101st birthday, December 5, 2010, in the Kasten family lot in Rockville Cemetery.
"Autumn comes. It always does. Goodbye comes. It always does. The trees struggle with this truth today and in my deepest of being, so do I."
