Mrs. Edward Spettel, 71, former town of Schleswig resident, died Friday evening at the Manitowoc county asylum after a brief illness. She had been confined at the asylum here for over 30 years.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the C.J. Meiselwitz funeral home, Kiel. Burial will be made in the Rockville cemetery.
Mrs. Spettel, nee Minnie Reimers, was born in the town of Schleswig June 30, 1868. She was married October 19, 1890 to Edward Spettel. The couple lived for a time on a farm in Schleswig and then moved to Sheboygan. Several years later they returned to Schleswig.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Harry of Kiel and Harvey of Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Schneider, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. William Schulz, Kiel; and a brother. F.C. Reimers, Oshkosh.
