Former Millhome Sawmill Operator Dies on Tuesday
Kiel - (Special) – Frank Raquet, 75, former sawmill operator at Millhome for 35 years, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Herman Roethel, 513 Calumet drive, Kiel, at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday following an illness of five years.
He was born June 24, 1865, on a farm in the town of Schleswig, son of Frank and Anna Mahlich Raquet. He learned the carpentry trade before he bought the sawmill at Millhome. Five years ago when he became ill he sold the mill and moved to Kiel.
Survivors are four brothers, John, of Kiel, David, town of Schleswig, Emil, of Kohler, and George, of Sheboygan; and one sister, Mrs. Herman Roethel. Five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman, pastor of St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church, officiating.
