ADELINE PRUETER
Mrs. Adeline Prueter, 80, formerly of 1202 S. 13th St,, Manitowoc and also of
Shady Lane Home, died Saturday June 21, 1986 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11:30 pm Tuesday at St. John United Church of Christ,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and burial will be in
Schleswig Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
Mrs. Prueter was born February 25, 1906 in the Town of Mosel, Sheboygan County,
daughter of the late Edward and Anna Fischer Wunsch. She attended schools in the
Town of Mosel. She was married to Herman Prueter June 11, 1927 in the Town of
Mosel and the couple came to Manitowoc to make their home. He preceded her in
death in 1963. Mrs. Prueter was employed at Wisconsin Telephone Company as a
Long Distance Telephone Operator from 1926-1940 and from 1941-1958 was a Sunday
School Teacher and Church Secretary for the downtown First Reformed Church. Mrs.
Prueter was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. The Women's Guild,
Manitowoc Homemaker's Club, a charter member of Park Lawn Auxiliary, a life
member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Manitowoc Senior Citizens and Manitowoc
Area Chapter 812 AARP and Manitowoc Family Service.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Gilman and Marcella Wunsch of
Sheboygan and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and
two sisters.
Friends may call at St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, 10 am until the
time of services on Tuesday. There will be no Monday evening visitation. Jens
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting in funeral arrangements. Memorials may be
made to St. John United Church of Christ.
