George W. Barger,of Indian Springs, one of the oldest citizens and successful farmers of Sullivan County, died at his home, December 13, at 8:15 p.m., in his eightieth year. Mrs. Barger is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy J. Barger,
and nine children, as follows: G. J. Barger, J. T. Barger, J. W. Barger, S. E. Barger, C. H. Barger, R. L. Barger and Miss Cordie Barger, of Indian Springs; and W. D. Barger, of Kingsport, and D. A. Barger, of Blountville, Tenn. The funeral was conducted from the residence yesterday at 11 o'clock by the Rev. S. L. Browning of Blountville. Mr. Barger was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, his membership being at New Haven. Interment will be in Cox Cemetery. Those acting as pallbearers are J. S. Hawk, D. H. Fleenor, H. N. White, C. L. Foust, R. L. Bridwell and George H. Spahr." BRISTOL HERALD-COURIER, 16 Dec. 1920.
