MRS. ADA SCHUFELDT RITES HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON:

A wide circle of relatives and friends of Mrs. Ada Schufeldt, beloved early-day homesteader, who passed away Saturday morning following a brief illness, gathered at the Congregational Church in Hyannis, Ne. Tuesday afternoon, to pay final tribute to her.

Rev. Ernest Larsen of Bingham, Ne. officiated at the comforting service. Mrs. James Helvie accompanied John Yauney, soloist, who sang "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere".

Pallbearers were: Paul Evert, Bill Perrett, LaVerne Van Meter, Ross Delinger, Art Haney, and Merwyn Johnson. The Walker Funeral Home of Alliance,Ne. was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the Hyannis Cemetery.

OBITUARY:

We hold in sacred memory the life of Ada Elizabeth Moss, daughter of Joshua and Lydia Moss.

She was born at Nelson, Ne. on May 2, 1885 and departed this life at Hyannis, Ne. on May 12, 1951.

She was united in marriage to Dean Milton Schufeldt at Nelson, Ne. on August 7, 1907.

Six daughters and three sons were born to them, Mrs. Georgia Crumroy of Hyannis, Ne., Harvey Schufeldt of Whitman, Ne., Mrs. Amanda McCray of Hyannis, Ne., Dr. Dean Schufeldt, with the armed services at Kodiak, Ala., Mrs. Pauline White of Hyannis,Ne., Earl Schufeldt of Mullen, Ne., Mrs. Ada Gammill of Alliance,Ne., Mrs. Juanita Ditterline of Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. Georgina Yauney of North Platte, Ne.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1933.

Besides her nine children, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elsie Shurtleff of York, Ne. two brothers, Will Moss of Pauline,Ne. and James Moss of Chicago, Ill. and by 24 grandchildren.

The Schufeldt family lived at Nelson until May of 1914 when they came to this community by covered wagon and homesteaded 21 miles north of Hyannis.

In earlier life Mrs. Schufeldt was a member of the Evangelical Church at Nelson and the Woman's Benefit Association Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary of Hyannis.

Her supreme mission in life was to be a good mother to her family, and the high devotion with which her children regard her and one another, is a beautiful tribute to how well she succeeded. Truly they have "risen up to call her blessed".
